Mr. Erich Gariseb

General Manager of Insurance and Medical Aid Funds at NAMFISA

Erich Gariseb is a prominent leader in Africa’s financial services sector with over 18 years experience across 13 countries. His expertise covers regulation, insurance, health, retirement funds, wealth management and lending. He has held executive roles in London and Johannesburg-listed institutions; delivering revenue growth, market expansion, post-merger integrations and innovative product development. Erich introduced affordable health solutions in Ghana, Lesotho and Botswana and launched Wealth and Collective Investment businesses in Namibia and Lesotho.

Currently, he serves as General Manager of Insurance and Medical Aid Funds at NAMFISA, Namibia’s non-banking financial services regulator. His previous roles include Executive Head of Products and Distribution at Momentum Metropolitan Africa and Head of Actuarial at Old Mutual Ghana. Erich holds an MSc in Financial Management from Heriot-Watt University and completed executive programs at Duke, Cambridge and CEIBS. He actively contributes to global forums, including the IAIS and OAISA, promoting financial inclusion and sustainable development.
